Over the last couple of years I've completed web sites and web applications for a number of clients. These projects involved design, development, SEO, and usability and accessibility consulting.

It's the web applications that I focus most on now. These are web sites that exist as a solution to a problem, a service which allows a particular task (or many) to be carried out. I've completed web applications that handle incident reporting, cleaning and security inspections, online training, record and time keeping, document management and collaboration, task management, transcription services, and lab testing.

More powerful than spreadsheets, always accessible

Web applications don't have to be big, expensive affairs. A lot of the time applications are merely streamlined versions of a process you complete already, in spreadsheets, printouts or custom Access applications. Web applications can also allow you to centralise your data, and allow any user access to the exact same processes and forms, wherever they are. And with fine-grained permissions, you can also choose to allow clients access to specific areas, such as reports.
